Lash Extensions vs. False Eyelashes
Years ago, many women splurged on false eyelashes to apply before going out for a special occasion. Today, many women apply them each day, or now, splurge on lash extensions. which can last for three to four weeks.
For those of you who have asked my opinion on lash extensions, I'm not really a big fan. Personally, I think they are very high maintenance for the three to four weeks that they last, and I've heard many people say they lose some of their natural lashes once the extensions come off.
On the other hand, I'm a big fan of false eyelashes and use a couple of great brands that if taken care of properly, can easily last several applications. Brands I've been using lately are Kevyn Aucoin lashes and Lash Star Beauty, a brand that I worked with at Neiman Marcus. Both brands have some great styles to work with. However, classic Ardell is great for beginners.
Of course in addition to great lashes, you need to use the best glue for application. For years I've been using Duo eyelash adhesive. It comes in both dark and clear, but I prefer the dark glue as it looks best with eyeliner, in addition to helping the eyelashes look seamless.
I know that many of my clients love false eyelashes, but don't feel comfortable with the application. I can tell you it does take practice, and if it helps to get some instruction, please let me know and you can come in for a lesson or we can work through Skype.
Til next time. - BJ
